Therapy is your time to explore yourself and your place in the world as a deserving, whole, loved being. My goal is to provide a safe and compassionate container for you to explore your psycho-somatic-emotional world, grow in self-compassion, and connect with your own innate healing capacity.
I am a New York State Licensed Master Social Worker, with experience in working with children and adults of all ages. I received my BA in Science, Technology and Society from Vassar College and my Masters in Social Work at Columbia University. I am trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing, and I am currently training in Somatic Experiencing. I incorporate regulation of the nervous system, in order to bring greater calm and build confidence in one’s capacity to hold life’s complexities. In addition to my background in individual counseling for adults, I have gained experience working with young people from the Child Mind Institute, a leading mental health treatment and research center for children and adolescents, and from working in school social work. I offer a space of acceptance and empowerment for adults, young adults, and children coping with depression, anxiety, adjustment-issues, trauma, grief, self-esteem, interpersonal and school relationships, and anger management, and for those wanting to cultivate compassionate relationships with themselves and others. I include a view of systemic and environmental influences in order to collaborate with and advocate for clients and support the whole person.
