“When we speak we are afraid our words will not be heard or welcomed. But when we are silent, we are still afraid. So it is better to speak.” – Audre Lorde
In childhood and through adulthood, many of us experience isolation, invalidation, and shame for our identities and our life experiences. At school, work and in our families, not everyone feels safe to be themselves or share their true challenges. Sometimes these experiences lead us to question our reality and make it difficult for us to trust ourselves. If this sounds like you, I’m here to help.
I provide person-centered, trauma-informed, and compassionate therapy to people of all gender identities. My professional career has focused on supporting teens and adults during or after experiences of trauma including intimate partner violence, sexual assault, homelessness, and human trafficking. I have experience supporting people through a mental health crisis, including suicidal thoughts and non-suicidal self-injury. In my work at Teamer Counseling, I support people through their deeper work on healing from trauma, the coming out journey, sex and sexuality, self-identity, family conflict, and cultural issues. This work allows me to support individuals in their healing journeys to feel happier, healthier, and connect deeper with their purpose on this earth.
I utilize a holistic lens, looking at the connection between the body, mind and spirit. I use an eclectic approach of modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, meditation, writing, poetry, psychodrama, music, play and laughter. Our work together is your choice, individualized to your goals and your strengths you bring to the process.
