Where is the instruction manual on how to raise children to be happy, successful adults? Unfortunately, there isn’t one. Children and teens, as well as parents, sometimes need assistance figuring out how to manage and cope with their own emotion dysregulation. It can be especially stressful for parents when they feel they have tried everything and nothing seems to work.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I am experienced working with children, adolescents, adults, and families, as well as individuals with cognitive, developmental, and physical disabilities. I am skilled in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Teen Intervene and Trauma-Informed Therapy. I’ve worked in programs such as Home-Based Crisis Intervention (HBCI), Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Stabilization Center, and an extensive DBT program that strictly adheres to Dr. Marsha Linehan’s protocol.
I use compassion and take a nonjudgmental stance while balancing change and acceptance by encouraging clients to gently work toward their own individual goals.
