Welcome!
I am Tiffany Teamer, owner of Teamer Counseling. I have loved my work since I started doing therapy in 2005. I received my Masters Degree from Fordham University with a specialty in work with children and families. At the beginning of my career, I worked in a public mental health setting. I worked with children and families providing therapy for a variety of difficulties, many of which were impacted by trauma. I received incredible training opportunities in evidenced based treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Family Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I spent ten years growing as a therapist and training and supervising other therapists in clinics throughout the county.
After starting a family of my own, and realizing the challenges of juggling too much at once as a working mom, I decided to make a change in my life that would create more freedom and balance. I began a private practice in 2015. It has been a wonderful change! I have been able to really find my niche and do my best work with the clients that I am most skilled to serve. I am able to take time for myself and for my family which helps me to be a better therapist for my clients.
Over the past year, it has been my goal to expand my practice to serve more people in my community that are struggling. I love working with kids, teens, adults and parents to support them in setting and achieving their goals and becoming healthier and happier versions of themselves. If you are feeling less than your best self, therapy can be a powerful tool to make a difference in your life. Don’t be afraid to reach out to find the support you need to heal and thrive in life. My team has the same dedication and passion to therapy. We will do our best to match you with a therapist that will be a great fit for you.
I am grateful for the work that I am able to do and for the many clients and colleagues along the way who have touched my life. Therapy has helped me to grow into the best version of myself and I know it can help you too.
With Gratitude,
~Tiffany
